The ever feisty Willie still is in hot pursuit over his critics and advertisers who pulled out advertisements ads from TV 5 network and his show. Many more organizations and celebrities criticized Willing-Willie for allowing a 6 year old kid to dance a garish number inappropriate for his age. But amidst all these, Willie is still unfazed.
The Commission on Human Rights and Department of Social Welfare and Development already voiced out their condemnation stating that what happened to the 6 year old Janjan Estrada is one form of child abuse. Now, social action arm of the Catholic Church, the CBCP’s National Secretariat for Social Action (NASSA) expressed their displeasure over the event. They stated that Jan-Jan dancing like a stripper has brought shame to the child, parents and members of media in exchange for P10,000. The number of advertisers who pulled out their ads from the show and from the network also increased. Taking the steps of Mang Inasal are Cebuana Lhuiller, CDO, Del Monte and Procter and Gamble which suspended their advertising on the show earlier this week.
The incident is currently under investigation by the MTRCB but even then, Willie is unperturbed as he slams the members who might be playing bias on him. His hot tirade goes:
“Wala pong suspension ang MTRCB. Wag kayong magalit sa MTRCB. Nagpalit po sila ng tatlong board. Bakit?
Willie has been in sour relationship with ABS CBN after his former TV network fired him last year and haunted him with cases for emulating his previous show in ABS and showcasing it in TV 5. Willie admitted that he and the network were hurt by the cancellation of ads in his show but he remains determined to go on with the show.
With all this chaos piling up on Willing Willie, TV 5 deemed to put the show off air for 2 weeks starting on Monday as Willie announced that he would temporarily take a leave from the program. Willie announced that he would take this time to ponder if he would return to the show or entirely halt his showbiz career.
