Laughing Out Loud with Poohkwang

by admin, on Mon, Apr 6 2009 | No Comments

You will be crying… with laughter!  This comic duo will make you shake, rattle and roll with too much laughter.  Hahagulhul ka sa tawa at tutulo laway mo sa tuwa.  If you want to laugh and be entertained, then you have to experience the Poohkwang comic tandem.    The comedic icons, Pokwang and Pooh, have their first concert at Music Museum last year.  Their concert gained a lot of recognitions from fans and critics.  Their concert was the watch the most “spooftacular” comedy show of the last year.

The Poohkwang comic duo is gaining recognition here in Philippines and abroad.  They are becoming popular over the TFC and their shows abroad.  Pooh and Pokwang have a great chemistry on stage, they so good together that many are comparing them to the famous stand-up comedian tandem the Pork Chop duo.  But on my opinion as a neutral observer, the duos are more explosive than the Pork Chop because they can do other things other than throwing jokes.  They are can throw acrobatic dance moves, good voice and fairly good acting talent.

Pokwang or Marietta Subong in real life is a member of ABS CBN’s Star Magic group of entertainers. She rose to fame after winning in ABS-CBN’s “Clown in a Million.” She was a part of the defunct sitcom “That’s My Doc” and a mainstay of daily noontime variety show “Wowowee.” She becomes controversial for her impersonation of Anabel Rama.

Pooh or Reynold Lagrimas Garcia, Pooh got his name from his favorite Disney character “Winnie the Pooh.” He started his career as a sing-along comic at Nota at Kuwela in Caloocan.  From there he moved to Musicbox, Jeff’s Café, and then The Library.  Pooh also won the 2006 Aliw Awardee for Best Male Stand-up Comedian.  He becomes popular with his impersonation of Manny Pacqiuao.
