Pilipinas Got Talent, no. 2 in Twitter

The biggest nationwide talent reality show in the Philippines”Pilipinas Got Talent” had reached Top 2 of Twitter‚Äôs Philippine trending list during the show‚Äôs grand finals on Saturday night.

Pilipinas Got Talent was even way ahead of 2010 FIFA World Cup in Twitter.com’s topic list. The show, which held its grand finals at the jampacked Araneta Coliseum on Saturday, hit the No. 2 spot sometime between 9:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Competing for the win to be the grand finals winner were singer Jovit Baldovino, ventriloquist Ruther Urquia, magician Allan “Alakim” De Paz, Fil-Norwegian crooner Markki Stroem, guitarist Keith Delleva, break dancing siblings Velasco Brothers, Ezra Band, balladeer Sherwin Baguion, family singers Luntayao, musician Jeline Oliva, dance group Baguio Metamorphosis, and Broadway siren Ingrid Payaket.

Pilipinas Got Talent 12 Finalist

Finally, the 12 slots for the Pilipinas Got Talent finalist are filled. Last Sunday, June 6 two acts, both from Baguio filled the remaining slots. Here are the 12 finalist of Pilipinas Got Talent that is set to battle for the most talented Pinoy on June 12 at Araneta Coliseum:

Jovit Baldovino: The 16-year old singer from Batangas who can sing better than Arnel Pineda of Journey. He becomes an internet singing sensation just after his audition. He was the first finalist; he received a whopping 80% of text and online votes from the televiewers.

Ruther Urquia: A ventriloquist from Las Piñas City. Together with his puppet Tintoy, Lolo ang Baby he manages to get the votes of the 3 Judges to gain the slot for the PGT finals.

Allan “Alakim” De Paz: The magician from Novaliches, Quezon City. He earned his slot for the finals by impressing the audience during performances with his amazing magic tricks that involved his signature butterflies.

Markki Stroem: He is a Fil-Norwegian crooner who has a complete package of looks and talent. Certainly, a heartthrob who can sing.

Keith Delleva: A very surprising entrant to PGT finals. The 13-year old teen guitarist from Pasay City got a shot for the finals despite of the several mishaps on his performance during the semi-finals. He garnered the highest number of text and online votes among the third batch of semi-finalist.

Carl Malone Montecido Audition on Pilipinas Got Talent

Pilipinas Got Talent is a show that aims to discover talented Pinoy all over the country. For the past few months of its broadcast the show didn’t fail to deliver what it promise, that is to showcase the Pinoy world class talent.

We have seen the Journey front man wannabe Jovit Baldovino and other world class talents. Last night another talent had emerged that touch the heart of the judges and the audience as well.

Carl Malone Montecido, aside from his name there are things are more interesting in him. Carl is 11-years old boy who had been blind since his birth and this young man is blessed with extraordinary singing talent to compensate his eyesight.

Carl sang “Isang Lahi” on Pilipinas Got Talent. His rendition of this classic song had brought Ai-Ai to tears.

Following the footsteps of Charice and his “idol” Arnel Pineda, the 16-year old Siomai vendor from Marilag, Batangas is making a name in YouTube. Jovit Baldivino creates a huge wave in the video sharing website after his audition on “Pilipinas Got Talent” was uploaded on the Net.

His audition video, uploaded on YouTube, has registered 2.2 million hits as of Monday, March 22 (1.6 million on Sunday—and counting). Jovit sang the Journey’s “Faithfully.” His interpretation of Journey’s signature song awed both the judges and the audience. The 16-year old high school student from Batangas is packed with amazing voice.

Was Arnel Pineda watching? Yes, he is. On the interview with Arnel Pineda, he said “He has a really strong potential to become a rock singer. When I was 16, I didn’t sound as good as he does now.”

Billy Crawford and Luis Manzano To Host Pilipas Got Talent

pilipinas got talent billy luisInternational Pinoy artist Billy Crawford will join the host-actor Luis Manzano to host the upcoming talent-reality search “Pilipinas Got Talent”. The PGT is expected to become the biggest talent search show in the country, as the will tour around the Philippines to find the Philippines best acts.

The Pilipinas Got Talent is a reality television series patterned after the popular “Britain’s Got Talent (BGT and “America’s Got Talent.” Luis and Billy will the counterpart of Britain’s Got Talent host Ant and Dec. They will be using their wit, humor, and charm as they guide Got Talent hopefuls throughout their journey and perform before a set of judges.

According to Billy, “Luis and I will serve as the contestants‚Äô big brothers here. We will get to know them and their stories, which I think is something the audience should and will really look forward to,” said Billy, who admitted that he was a fan of the America‚Äôs Got Talent before coming to Manila last year to host Pinoy Dream Academy last year.

Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) will feature Filipinos’ in different acts. The show is open to everyone, regardless of age. Aspirant talents can do solo, duo, or group. Any talent is welcome it would be in singing, dancing, acting, or even unique skills such as doing magic, juggling, and stand-up comedy.

Watch out for the Pilipinas Got Talent audition in your locality. The first leg of auditions will kick of at the Lyceum of the Philippines in Batangas on November 6, 7, and 8. Auditions will also be held on Cebu on November 11, 12, and 13; Baguio on November 19, 20, 21; Cagayan De Oro on November 25, 26, and 27; Davao on November 30, Dec. 1 and 2; and Manila on December 5, 6, 12, and 13.
