PDP-Laban Vice Presidential bet Jejomar Binay is still having a tight race against the Liberal Party Vice Presidential aspirant Sen. Mar Roxas. Binay and Roxas are the two remaining contender for Vice President who still hoping for the victorious finish. Sen. Loren Legard of Nacionalista Party and other VP candidates already concedes their defeat early this Tuesday morning.
As of May 12, 2010 at 8:00 AM (Philippine Time) with 88.55% of election returns counted, Jejomar Binay is leading the Vice Presidential race with 13,259,610 votes, while Sen. Mar Roxas is closing in with 12,466,430. As of this posting time Mar Roxas is still standing in his ground.
In a statement read by Quezon Rep. Erin Tañada of the Liberal Party, Roxas admitted that it is a close fight between him and Binay but stressed that the Commission on Elections only released 85 percent of all the election returns.
“It is not for me, or anybody for that matter, to say if we’ve already lost, or if we will win in the end. It is up to the sovereign will of the people,” Roxas said.
“Until the canvassing is over, our fight does not end,” Roxas said in his statement, while thanking volunteers and voters who supported him.
Rep. Erin Tañada said that win or lose, Roxas will face the media as soon as things become “clearer.”

The Senator and the Vice-Presidential aspirant Manuel “Mar” Roxas and seasoned broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez will exchange wedding vows today at Santo Domingo Church in Quezon City at 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2009.
The much-awaited and much-talked wedding is expected to be packed with political and show business personalities, as well as representatives from various organizations and communities who have been invited to attend.
The senator from Capiz and the veteran broadcast anchor decided to donate to charity what they originally planned to spend for a lavish reception at the Araneta Coliseum. The couple donated the money for their reception at several charities. A total of P2.2 million was donated by the couple to Caritas Philippines, P500,000; ABS-CBN Foundation Sagip Kapamilya, P500,000; GMA Kapuso Foundation, P500,000; Philippine National Red Cross – National Blood Service, P250,000; Philippine National Red Cross, for the account of typhoon Ondoy, P250,000; Igan Foundation, P100,000; and ABS-CBN Foundation Kapamilya Shower Na Project, P100,000.
According to Korina, “We can sacrifice our dream wedding. What’s important is that we’re finally getting married.”
The principal sponsors in the Roxas-Sanchez wedding are Chief Justice Reynato Puno, former Senate President Jovito Salonga, Eugenio Lopez III, Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, Jorge Araneta, Ms.Rosa Rosal, Helen Costales, Ruby Roxas, Cecilia Lazaro, and Maria Fores.
Standing as best man is Roxas’ 16-year-old son Paolo Zaldarriaga while Dang Cecilio-Palanca will be the matron of honor. Baby James A. Yap Jr., is the ring bearer while Miguel L. Sanchez and Matthew C. Garcia would be the coin and Bible bearers, respectively.
