Rico J. Puno temporarily replaced the Kanto boys to host the noon time show Wowowee. Before coming into the show Puno said in an interview that he asked the approval of his friend Willie Willie Revillame, main host of Wowowee after he took an indefinite leave from the show.
Puno said, “Oo, alam niya. Tinext ko nga kanina ang sabi ko panoorin mo ako at guest co-host ako. (Biro niya) ‘Hindi na ako manonood kasi binenta ko na lahat ng TV ko. At saka ikaw naman ang guest.’ “OK naman at ipinaalam ko lang dahil sa kaibigan tayo ni Willie.”
“Isang malaking karangalan para temporary na maghost kasi malaki din ang tulong sa akin ni Willie,” Puno said.
“Oo ang sarap, okay. Biglaan ‘yon pero siyempre kaibigan natin si Willie. Alam mo kapag Wowowee Willie ‘yon enjoy na enjoy naman tuwang tuwa din ako kasi ang ganda ng reaction ng mga tao ang sarap palang mag-host doon kaya pala dumami ang pera ni Willie,” Puno joked.
Rico J has a show on States this coming September and he believes that being the Wowowee guest host is an advantage in promoting his show abroad and he thanked the ABS-CBN for the opportunity.
“‘Yung tour namin sa States sa September na i-plug ng todo at nagkaroon ng matinding media coverage, yon lang kaya salamat .
For the Wowowee fans there will be going to Davao this Saturday (June 12).

After his goodbye to ABS-CBN noon time show Wowowee Robin Padilla was replaced by the kanto boys Luis Manzano, John Lloyd Cruz and Billy Crawford, to be the temporary host of the show but criticisms arises, they are being compared to Mr. Padilla on how they will hand the show.
In an interview to Robin, he said that people should not compare him to the kanto boys for they have different styles in hosting the show and entertaining people. “Ako ay matanda, ang mga ‚ÄòKanto Boys‚Äò ay mga bata. Talagang magkaiba po ‘yon. Kaya kung ikukumpara nila ang ‘Kanto Boys’ sa akin ay huwag po sana dahil magkaiba po talaga kami ng style,” Padilla said.
Robin hosted the show for two weeks and like the kanto boys he was also criticized but this is not the reason why he leaves the show, He said that he is preparing for his 2 movies. He is open to host the show permanently but he said he wanted a clear talk about it from the management.
“Ayoko lang po kasi na masabi ng tao na ako po ay nang-agaw. Gusto ko lang po talaga ay isang malinaw na usapan,” Padilla said. But one upon his leave he said that he missed the show specially the female hosts of the show. Padilla, who is being romantically linked to Rodriguez, said he is in no position to comment on the issue. He also hoped that Rodriguez and Marudo would be able to iron things out.

Last Saturday (May 29, 2010 Philippines time), guest host Robin Padilla ended his 2-weeks hosting stints for the Wowowee and he was replaced with three young actors namely John Lloyd Cruz, Luis Mansano and Billy Crawford or collectively known as the Kanto Boys.
The 3 of the most-sought bachelors in the Philippine showbiz vowed to deliver the best they got to make the show more fun and entertaining. The Kanto Boys are set for 2-weeks hosting stint in Wowowee, after two weeks we will know if the John Lloyd, Luis and Billy will stay on Wowowee for good.
Wowowee co-hosts Valerie Concepcion and Pokwang were delighted with the way the Manzano, Cruz and Crawford handled the hosting.
“Para silang nakawala sa hawla, super kulit nila, I had fun!” said Valerie.
“Ang kulit nila Lloydie, Billy at Luis, enjoy kami kanina sa show!” said Pokwang.
On Friday, Robin thanked ABS-CBN management and the show’s staff for giving him an opportunity to host Wowowee. He said he will forever treasure his experiences on the show.
