High tension drama on Corona’s Impeachment Trial

courtesy of getrealphilippines.comThe recent events that happened inside the senate court on Chief Justice Corona’s Impeachment Trial have reached insurmountable results. Everyone has long awaited the chance for the chief magistrate to defend himself in front of the senator judges and the viewing public to finally end these everlasting episodes of legal proceedings that has become more of a reality based “telenovela” at judicial court.

Corona almost had every single Filipino take his side after hearing statements as revealed by the chief justice himself on the senate court. His decision to leave without prior consent from the senate president Juan Ponce Enrile (presiding judge) has enraged the latter. Furthermore, his return on a wheel chair is too good to be true. Another guilty official making use of his health issues to escape the scorching questions of the tribunal? I believe adding a neck brace would make the act more plausible.

So how are we going to believe the testimonies that CJ Corona have proclaimed if he does not want to be cross examined by the prosecutors of this trial? An obvious answer to that would be if he sustains his denial of attesting in view of his acquittal. It seems his chances of getting acquitted will be hopeless right after his melodramatic performance this afternoon.

Corona’s actions has called upon Enrile’s decision to write off the record based on the statements he just issued in court and only consider presented evidence in deciding on the case. Yet, the senate president has given CJ Corona up until Wednesday afternoon to present himself again on the witness stand to avoid forfeiting his assertions.
