A positive note on Ricky Pempengco’s death

by xarki, on Tue, Nov 8 2011 | No Comments

I believe in a purposeful life. That we are born to do something important though we will not eventually find out what it is until either we get past it or death makes way for it.

The death of Ricky Pempengco served as a bridge for two warring families to reunite. A verbal clash that occurred between Charice and her father’s relatives has finally come to an end. A great gift for their departed loved one.

It is so interesting that the death of someone will bring peace between two opposing sides. Maybe it is too late for the deceased to witness it but it is a great turning point, a grandiose achievement in the wake of someone’s departure. Mission accomplished!

It is timely for them to change and support one another given the fact that Pempengco died of an unlikely cause.

Charice’s aunt, Russell Mejia stated in her interview, “Sa ngayon, naging maganda kasi nagkaisa kaming magpamilya. ‘Yung side ni Charice, ‘yung side namin, nagkaisa dahil sa kanya [Ricky]. (It is good for our families to come together in reconciliation. Both sides were brought together because of him.)

Charice was scheduled to take part in a concert abroad but instead abruptly returned to the country because of her father’s death.

by Alethea, on Thu, Jul 7 2011 | No Comments

After her major role in the previous season of Glee 2, Charice proves that despite her height and age, her talent could conquer not only the vast land of the America but also in Asia. Recently, Charice was appointed to sing the OST of the newest Japanese TV series entitled Bull Doctor with their OST “Far as the Sky”.

Long before she was opted give her voice, Charice was already famous in Japan as she was awarded J-Wave Best Newcomer Award beating Justin Beiber in the said category.

The young Filipina received numerous praises among the casts and producer of the said series.

“It was shocking when I first heard Charice’s songs. I was so fascinated by her voice which is so stretching and powerful, and the experience got me reaching out to her and asking for a song. I have this strong confidence and conviction in my heart that the message of humanism this drama will give, and the emotions that Charice will bring to this drama, will make a fantastic collaboration,” said Kazuya Toda, the producer of the program.

Esumi Makiko also gives her words to Charice and is translated by Harry Clark of Warner’s Japan.

“The amazingly powerful, crystal clear voice of Charice is truly miraculous, or is a miracle itself. The vision and the message of the drama does match her straight-forward, energetic and positive way of her life pursuing her visions and dreams, hence with this wonderful song she brought, it makes the drama truly completely a great story. I am so impressed and moved!”

With the overwhelming feeling, the young diva from the Philippines also gives her thoughts.
This song has full of inspiration, tensions to attractions…it has a clear message that even when you tend to get down by encountering obstacles, difficulties in life, there IS always hope.

Please think of this song, as it’s for your loving family, friends, and all the people you dearly love. This song will send people a lot of inspiration so I’d like to have as many people as possible to listen to this song. And, just like it was from me, the song will send you a lot of sympathies too. And, I would like to dedicate this song to all of the Japanese people.

My heart is breaking and aching because of the devastatingly disastrous event that has happened to Japan last March 11.

And because of that, I want to dedicate this song to the Japanese people. Please remember to feel that this is not the end of the world, there is still hope, and there will come a “tomorrow”. You all can overcome this, and win this. And please remember we each have given all of our support for you,” Charice said.

Chasters ecstatic with Charice’ comeback episode in Glee

by Alethea, on Wed, Apr 20 2011 | No Comments

After almost seven months of waiting for the re-appearance of Charice Pempenco in the US no. 1 hit musical TV show in US, fans of Charice were not disappointed. Charise’ performance had been an absolute hit in a well-applauded song number for the segment. The fans of Charise who called themselves as Chasters were ecstatic as they all together watched the “comeback” episode of Charice on “Glee” at the Salakot Grill in Los Angeles, California.

The episode scores an interesting twist as Charice who played the role of a Filipina exchange student Sunshine Corazon, joined Vocal Adrenaline, rival of William McKinley High School’s glee club, New Directions, after lead character Rachel Berry (Lea Michelle) sent her to a crack house during her debut segment in Season 2 of the show. She then performed “All By Myself” before the admiring eyes of the New Direction. She was even feistier now as compared to her first appearance where she had been a target of the lead role‚Äôs jealous antics. In her role, she dismissed Rachel‚Äôs claim that she is a spy for the Vocal Adrenaline.

Sunshine, however, says she has nothing against the group. “I’m such a better singer than everyone else so I know how it feels. I’m all alone at the top. Also, I’m really short, so even when I’m in a group of people I feel like I’m wandering alone in a forest.”

Her biting remarks had made an impact on Rachel who had been known for hugging the spotlight all to her own. And indeed in real life, her voice is quite more commendable as compared to Lea Michelle. That makes her role a more interesting part of the episode.

Despite the large time gap of her next appearance, Chasters believed that the wait had been worthwhile. They pointed out that there never was a dull moment during the performance of Charice. Still, Chasters and Pinoys kept wishing that it is not her final exposure on Glee. Her role had much character in it and if built better, she would make an interesting addition to the talented casts of the hit Fox TV series. Chasters are also proud to know that their idol had not been idle on the 7 months of time gap. Charice’ album had been launched in ITunes yesterday making it available for music consumers.
