Angelica Panganiban: “Never Akong Nagbayad”

“Puwede bang sumuko na lang sa nomination? Sila na lang kasi ayaw ko nang maintriga.” This was the statement told by Angelica to the press after the alleged issue that she tried to bribe the Award giving body buying an acting award.

 

Angelica was one of the nominated stars for Best Actress in the upcoming 27th Stars Award which will be held this coming June 21, 2011.
 
In this category, the young actress competes with the biggest and equally bright actresses in television. The name includes Lorna Tolentino and Bea Alonzo for the movie Sa ‘Yo Lamang, Ai-Ai delas Alas for the movie Tanging Ina N ‘yo (Last Na ‘To!), Anne Curtis for the movie In Your Eyes, Lovi Poe from the movie Mayohan, and Dawn Zulueta for the movie Sigwa.
 
In the launching of her new endorsement, the beautiful Angelica explained her side and told the media about the issue and her assessment for the probability of where this malicious issue might possibly came from.
 
“Kasi, ‘yong isang reporter, nag-birthday siya, parang weeks ago nag-birthday. Parang invited ako and then hindi ako nakapunta.
 
“Then, Christmas time, di ba, may mga solicitation, may mga magso-solicit sa ‘yo para sa raffle? Nagbigay akong gift certificate.
 
“Then, sabi ng isang reporter na baka puwedeng sabay na lang ‘yong Christmas gift ko. Hindi ko na siya nabigyan.
 
“Tapos, naalala ko na nag-birthday nga pala siya, so binigyan ko siya ng gift check. Mga worth P15,000 ‘yong gift check na binigay ko.
 
“Kasi, marami silang reporters na nagpunta sa dressing room ko.
 
“Ayaw ko naming mambastos na siya lang ang bibigyan ko, so sa kanya ko lang inabot.
 
“Sabi ko, ‘O, maghati-hati na lang kayo.’
 
“Kasi, hindi ko naman alam kung kailan ang mga birthday nila. Alangan namang abangan ko, di ba?
 
“So, ibinigay ko sa kanila. After two weeks, ‘yon na ‘yong naging intriga.” The 24-year old Angelica Panganiban told the press in the launching of her Pond‚Äôs endorsement in Sofitel Hotel at Pasay.
 
Angelica closed the interview with a sarcastic statement, “I don’t think gano’n sila ka-cheap, na for P5,000 na gift check, ibibigay nila sa akin ang trophy. “It’s sad naman na may mga gano’ng tao na puwede mong bayaran para lang mabigyan ka ng karangalan.‚Äù
 
And she added that that getting the award knowing that you deserves it and you are worthy of it is much more honorable.

Derek and Angelica break up

Celebrity couple Derek Ramsay and Angelica Panganiban had always been the target of jealous intrigues. As of present, the rumor that the two had separated once again surfaced. Last week, Derek was rumoured to have another girlfriend in which he merely shrugged off. Angelica always has nasty lash backs on those people whom she accused of harbouring jealousy on her relationship with Derek.

 

“Siyempre hindi [kami naghiwalay]. Actually last week pa kami sinasabing hiwalay na. So tumawag din sa akin si Derek sabi niya may nanggugulo ba sa ‘yo? Sabi ko wala naman, may mga nagtetext lang,” Angelica said in an interview with ABS-CBN’s “SNN” on Thursday, March 31.

 

PEP magazine blog had posted an article last week that the two already separated. The information was allegedly leaked by a close friend of the couple. PEP magazine had confirmed the separation. The article stated that the two lovers already parted ways but refused to admit it to the public. Angelica was surprised with the statement. She stated that she and Derek still dated last Thursday so it is highly improbable that the two broke up.

 

“Actually nakakaloka nga kasi may blog ako and nilagay ko pa dun yung mga pictures na nag date kami nung Tuesday. Sabi ko pa nga naku ang saya-saya namin kasama ko pa yung family ko ganun, nagdinner din kami, nagluto kami sa house, kasama namin yung Mama ko. So nakakagulat na biglang ganun.”

 

Derek, on the other hand, supported Angelica’s statement telling the press in a text message that the break up was but rumors. She and Angelica are still going strong.

 

“No No No!!! We are going strong! I don’t even remember the last time na nag-away kami ni Angel,” said the hunk actor.

 

As usual, the feisty actress had something to say to her detractors who so oftentimes hurl malicious gossips about her and Derek.

 

“Ang ganda ko kasi talaga at masyadong hunk yung jowa ko. Sorry kami ang pinakabagay sa buong mundo. Mamatay talaga sila sa inggit. I’m sure yung mga gumawa niyan eh naglalaway na naman ngayon, [nag-iisip kung] ano kayang next na gagawin natin? Sorry payaman kami ng payaman at painit kami ng painit dahil sa ginagawa nila di ba? Kami ang pinaka-in na couple.”

 

Despite the two’s negation on the issue, PEP continues to insist the truth about their break-up. But as early as this morning of April 1, PEP retracted their statement stating that the source had made a mistake about the two and they are also happy that the two are still together.

 

“Kinatutuwa namin ang pagtangging ito nina Derek at Angelica dahil mahusay at maganda para sa lahat kung totoong sila pa rin. Kahit pa sabihing nagkamali ang PEP source‚Äîat, tuloy, nagkamali ang PEP sa paglabas ng balita‚Äîmas maganda pa rin kung walang hiwalayang naganap.”

Three in a row…Top showbiz controversies

Just recently, one of the showbiz loveteam, took their needed respite on one of the picturesque wonders of the world, Palawan. Hunk actor, Derek Ramsey with her sexy girlfriend, Angelica Panaganiban went out together in Palawan to rest but to their dismay, they experienced an unusual encounter, with the unseen spirit, the “engkantos” (poltergeist). Angelica narrated, that all of them who were there are having the same dream of some enkantos’ presence and want to bring Angelica to their kingdom because of their anger to them. One of their companions confirmed the dream and explained the ordeal to Angel, Derek briefly said. Everybody seems to be wondering if this is just an icebreaker for Angelica’s upcoming movie with Vhong Navarro, Bulong.
 
In another controversy also, Vice Ganda, was rumor to leave his mentor, Ogie Diaz because they have frequent arguments due to differences in opinion. Well, that usually occurs, when talents are still neophytes, they tend to be obedient and when they achieved stardom; they eventually follow their own ways. Vice revealed that he was not happy with Ogie’s management over him, thus adding, “malaki na kasi ang ulo ko, at hindi na niya ako makokontrol kasi lumalaki na ito at hindi ko na kaya ang aking kasikatan.” Later on, Vice admitted that it was all a big joke and did not really mean what he said about his manger Ogie. The truth is that, they made a pact not to part ways because they love each other so much. “That is it, are you all convinced”, he said laughing. His manager, Ogie Diaz, admitted though oftentimes, the two of them argued, which he said is normal. Nevertheless, at the end of the day, they will finally come up with the best decision after a brainstorm. “Showbiz na showbiz talaga”, very unpredictable.
 
Lastly, the third on the row is about, the very famous teen idol, Kim Chui, switching to sexy roles. For me, I prefer Kim on a sweetie role; her face is not suit for daring ones. The ABS-CBN management had made Kim and Gerald Anderson separate for the meantime, but why on the verge of their stardom, they could have waited when their fans are bored with their team up. Just an opinion anyway, the management still have the best decision on that. Though, Kim expressed readiness on her switch of identity. She stated that, “I will do the role for the sake of art anyway, it will be artistically done and is story related also, so there is no problem at all for me. I am an actress, and must always be prepared to whatever role calls me to portray.” That is a good attitude Kim, keep it up!

Walking Angelica and Claudine’s Reconciliation

After the incidents and issue regarding Claudine upsurge in suing Angelica Panganiban about the malicious hearsay that she is “spreading” (that is according to Claudine), the two camps on both sides are trying to make a move in doing a reconciliation and bringing back he two to the light of friendship.


It is due to the previous news that Angelica is the root of the issue of Claudine’s elicit affair to Derek Ramsay’s bestfriend. According to Claudine, she has a lot of evidence and witnesses that it was the young star who is responsible in scattering the malicious news and Clau is threating to sue Angelica.


Clau’s talent manager is making a move and negotiation to make the two reconcile and that the issue will come to a halt. It has been the main articles of showbiz news in prints and tabloids and it is very scandalous and therefore, this has to be stopped.


They say that hurting words spoken is forgiven, but it will never be forgotten. At the end of this tale, will the two be still, once more, become friends? We’ll see.
