Manny Pacquiao is Home to Prepare for Political Fight
The best pound-for-pound boxer in the world returns home to prepare for his next fight. This time Manny Pacquiao would not be fighting inside the boxing ring but in the more hostile political arena.
The WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao arrived in the Philippines Monday morning, more than a week after he defeated Ghanaian Joshua Clottey by unanimous decision in Cowboys StaTexas last March 13. Pacquiao returned to Manila aboard Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight PR 103 from Los Angeles, California. He arrived at 5:51 a.m. (Philippine Time).
Pacman accompanied by his wife, Jinkee, and other Team Pacquiao members such as former environment secretary Jose “Lito” Atienza and former Ilocos Sur Gov. Luis “Chavit” Singson.
The boxing superstar was welcomed by his children Jimuel, Michael and Princess, and the Naciolista Party presidential candidate Sen. Manuel “Manny” Villar, Jr.
He will then attend a thanksgiving mass at the Quiapo Church in Manila and pay a courtesy call on President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in Malacañang. After the courtesy call, a motorcade which will start at Mendiola bridge and end at the Sta. Ana market will participated by Pacman.
After the celebration, Manny Pacquiao is gearing up for his campaign on the congressional seat in Sarangani province.
