Claim to Fame— who’s had the people’s eyes in the Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto Fight?

Miguel Cotto fighting dirty according to Freddie Roach, Manny Pacquiao taking Cotto lightly and Miguel Cotto working too hard to prepare against PACMAN are only some of the headlines that you’d see across the web. It definitely feels like who’s going to win and who’s going to lose is almost out of the question. The fight has now taken place outside the ring.

The media coverage of the two fighters’ training is non-stop. Camera here and there, videos and interviews whenever possible; there is no doubt that the two have captured a lot of people’s interest which made them a good source of news stories. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with this. After all, the fun in boxing mostly lies on bets and ‘manoks’. Prior to the fight, people should already be able to ascertain to whom they favor of so they can have limitless fun as they scream the names of their bets as the fight moves on— the exact purpose of all the aforementioned fuss around the two boxers.

However, we can never deny the fact that a lot of eyes are driven towards Manny Pacquiao having had bagged consecutive successes in the past few years. This truth has led to the question of Miguel Cotto’s claim to fame in the upcoming fight with the People’s Champ. Is Miguel Cotto being overlooked by the media? We don’t have means of telling so, but the Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto videos in YouTube suggest that the two are getting an equal love from the audience.

Finally, maybe it’s time we forget about fame for once and think about who’s going to win over whom— is it the hard hits of Cotto or the speed and angles of Pacquiao? The two appears to be having the time of their life. They sure wish the same for us.  Let’s have fun.
