News has it the Quezon City jail seems to be loose in allowing their prisoners to have their own merry ways inside their prison cell. This proved to be the case of Jason Ivler, son of Marlene Aguilar-Pollard and grandson of legendary singer Freddie Aguilar. Pictures of Ivler partying and drinking with company of women inside his detention cell circulated in the web. It raised a question on the integrity of the QC jails as to how this could probably take place because it is a violation of jail regulations. Ivler is the suspect in the killing of Renato Victor Ebarle Jr. in 2009 with his family.

In the photo, Ivler seemed to be given a special treatment because he is seen in a company of unidentified women and peers while consuming liquor inside the jail. The treatment sparked rage on the Ebarle family. Their lawyer, Atty. Amelita Garayblas, released a statement condemning the incidents since it is a clear violation of jail protocol. They believe that the photos would be a proof that special treatment is given to the inmate.
“We were very much surprised because an inmate… can enjoy such perks in his cell,” she said.
With this, the prosecutors are requesting the court to order the transfer of Ivler to the Bicutan detention center at Camp Bagong Diwa. Ivler’s mom is quick to come to his son’s defences claiming that the jail is a “party place” and claimed that it is a common occurrence in other detention centers in the country. She is implying that this incident is a regular practice inside the detention cells.
“Kultura na po ng jail iyan sa Pilipinas [It’s jail culture in the Philippines],” she said.
She even stated that her son is not amiss amidst all the parties inside the jail. He would often be invited to join parties thrown by other inmates.
“Hari ng selda ang anak ko! Mga Sputnik, Bahala Na Gang, laging inaaya ang anak ko. Sikat na sikat siya doon. Pina-tattoo pa nila mukha ng anak ko sa katawan nila,” she claimed.
She also described his son as “Jason Ivler ng bayan” and divulged that ‚Äúbusloads of women‚Äù are his regular visitors. But then, she made it clear that whatever treatment her son receives, she would gladly pay for it.
“Kung ano man ang binebentang treatment doon, kahit sex pa iyon, I’ll pay for it,” she added.
