Petition To Oust Willie Revillame is Snowballing
The online petition to oust theWillie Revillame as Wowowee host spread on the Internet like a wildfire.  The petition was due to Willie Revillame’s reaction in the middle of an interview with a contestant during the airing of the noontime show Wowowee, while the live streaming feed on Pres. Cory Aquino cortege is being shown on the inset.  The alleged crudeness and rudeness of Willie drew immediate disapproval and censure from the public.
Here’s the transcript of Willie’s comment during the show:
‚ÄúHindi siguro magandang tingnan na pinapakita niyo yan (Mrs. Aquino‚Äôs footage). Nagsasaya kami tapos pinapakita niyo yung, I don’t think dapat ipakita yan.”
‚ÄúEh mahihirapan akong magsalita rito. Nagpapasaya ako nakikita ko ‚Äòyung ano (cortege) ni Tita Cory. Sana pakitanggal naman muna ‚Äòyan s ating traffic. Kasi kung ganyan pakita nalang natin ‚Äòyan kasi nagsasaya kami dito tapos masakit sa akin yan. Nagsasalita ako dito yan Pls, sana maintindhan niyo, nagsasaya kami dito papakita niyo sa amin yun. Diba? Hindi tama eh okay?”
‚ÄúHay nako. Pangit. Hindi maganda ho sa atin nagsasalita pinapakita yung kabaong ni Tita Cory. Diba? Paano kami magkakapagsaya nahihirapan kami? I’m sorry ho ah pero ako totoo ako eh. ‚ÄòWag niyo akong papagalitan…Pagkatapos ng show pakita niyo ‚Äòyung gusto niyong ipalabas. Kasi itong Wowowee gusto ko at alam din ni Tita Cory ‚Äòyan kasi napasaya din siya ng show na ito na laging masaya dito. Okay?”
Where is Willie Revillame’s delicadeza?  How about the respect?  People have divided opinion on this matter.  Some are blaming Willie for being tackless and rude, but others where blaming ABS-CBN for airing the Wowowee during Pres. Cory funeral.  We know for a fact that, Wowowee is a variety show, how can you expect someone with human feelings to make fun, play games, joke around, dance and sing together with a funeral march as an inset?  Anyway, whoever is fault on this matter Willie had already made an apology:
Revillame in a statement said:
“I am asking forgiveness to those who were offended. I hope you understand I had no intention to offend. If there are people who were offended, I apologize. For myself, my intention there was to give respect and make the occasion a solemn one.
My intention there was not to disrespect the former president but to give respect. Sana lang po ay habang nagluluksa tayo ay hindi kami nakikitang nagsasaya, parang hindi kami nakikidalamhati.
Kung ako’y hindi nila wine-welcome at sa tingin ko ho na ako’y hindi na welcome sa bawa’t Pilipino, sa araw-araw na gusto nila makasama, ako po’y aalis na sa programa.”
On my opinion, both the ABS-CBN and Willie is to be blame.  Willie, for his rudeness and arrogance and ABS-CBN for being “money-sucking” monster.

I watched the comment of Willie more than once and from what I saw, I didn’t think his tone of voice was rude or disrespectful. He asked management to understand his position because it was hard for him to make people laugh and enjoy the show while the funeral of Mrs. Aquino was being shown. It hurt him to be so upbeat while the country was mourning her demise. I think it would have been better if they cancelled the show for that day to give way to the coverage of the funeral. I think these people are either jealous of his success or have nothing better to do. The Aquino family forgave him – they were the ones affected. Instead of putting people down, let’s toss this to experience so it will not happen again. It’s time to move on…
I think Willie Revillame offended the filipino people on purpose. He was just stating the fact that it’s difficult to entertain the filipinos with the video clip of ex-pres. cory quino on footage.

I watched the video myself many times over.
And I was offended. His intentions may have been pure, I’ll surely give him that. But a person so popular should know he carries a gargantuan responsibility with that popularity – whether he asked for it or not, whether he wants it or not.
There are a hundred ways to skin a cat – and I’m sure in retrospect, Mr. Revillame wishes he could have said what he said in so many other ways. You see, as adults we should know that, at times, it is not what you say that matters, but how you say it.
Sure, the Aquino family forgave him. I am sure Mr. Revillame was wonderful to the Aquino family. But people like me thought that Mr. Revillame has crossed that very thin line of propriety and proper decorum on national TV one too many times, with how he treats his staff on air or the contestants on his show. And that this incident was the last straw for many like me.
I am not putting Mr. Revillame down. He has done that to himself quite superbly in the past that he needs no help from anyone. The very reason why we are calling Mr. Revillame to task for what he did is to make sure IT WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN, instead of just “moving on”.
Sure, ABS CBN was wrong in airing the show. Sure, the director, the staff should have been blamed. But to say that Mr. Revillame should not be held responsible with his words? Come on.
And by saying all this, does it mean I am jealous of Mr. Revillame’s success? Does it mean I have nothing better to do?

I am very sure that you have not watched previous shows of Wowowee as you are not aware why there are thousands and thousand of angry people who have petitioned for Willie Revillame’s ouster on Wowowee. We would like you to know that we are professionals, engineers, nurses, accountants, managers who are TFC subscribers abroad who joined the petition. Why? Because we are fed up on what Willie Revillame is doing on his show, the arrogance, lewdness, sex maniac attitude, no respect to poor people exploiting them because of their status, and the likes. The cortege of Mrs. Aquino is just a tipping point. It opens the oportunity for thousand and thousand of unsatisfied TFC subscribers to compalin how this man is handling his show. I suggest that you watch “YOUTUBE” and see how WR humiliates women, his staff and poor people in his show. Filipinos have a dignity even if they are poor, you take out that dignity and you will know the bad consequences.
