Nora Aunor is Nominated for Best Asian Actresses of the Decade

The Pinay Superstar Nora Aunor is among the 30 actresses across the Asia who is nominated in the 2010 Green Globe Film Awards for the 10 Best Asian Actresses of the Decade category.

Together with Ms. Nora Aunor are the famous actresses from Asia which mostly are from China, Japan and Korea. They were chosen via online voting. Aside from the 10 Best Asian Actresses of the Decade, there are other award categories in the 2010 Green Globe that celebrate the Asian entertainment scene like Best Asian Film of the Decade, Asian Cultural Ambassador of the Decade, Best International Entertainer from Asia, Best International Actor/Actress from Asia, Best International Film from Asia, etc.

The Green Globe Film Awards honors actors, environmentalists, and humanitarians who cross cultural, national and continental boundaries making it one of the most diverse of all Hollywood based Film Award bodies.

Voting for the awards is targeted at an international audience and is conducted online. The online voting aims unite the charm of user-generated People’s Choice Awards and the glitter of the Oscars, employing a multi-cultural spin.

The Awards will be presented during the March 23rd dinner gala at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel’s California Ballroom in Los Angeles.

In 2008, Aunor‚Äôs film ‚ÄúHimala‚Äù was the lone Filipino film chosen by CNN as one of the ten best Asian films of all time from the provisional list of 18 great films (September 2008). CNN cited “Himala” for its “austere camera work, haunting score, and accomplished performances that sensitively portray the harsh social and cultural conditions that people in the Third World endure.”
