It seems like everybody’s on the watch for the Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto Face Off. However, for those who are anticipating a ‘troublesome’ Face Off— you’re going to be in for a big disappointment.
Despite all the promotions going around the rivals, the two appeared to have been able to keep a fair competition by not hitting each other below the belt. In an interview featured in a Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto FACE OFF video, both have admitted their extreme want to win over each other in their fight on November 14th in Las Vegas. Miguel Cotto, having been asked first, shared that he would want to win the fight because it’s his way of making his name known in boxing scene. He also added that he’s in for the game for the exact same reasons Manny is also there for— to bring honor to his country. Manny, on the other hand, also shared his piece. He said that he’d want to win, first for his family and then for the country. He further said that he wants to continue to give honor to the country and even joked about how delighted he is to know that even our President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo watches his fight.
Finally, the interviewer asked them if they are going to jump onto each other right at the very start of the fight because of these reasons. The two simply smiled and replied that they are not really after bruising each other because of their personal reasons— their aim is to bring fans enjoyment and to make them feel that they are in fact the real winners.
