After months of speculation, Aga Muhlach finally confirmed the truth to the rumour. He is bidding adieu to his home network ABS-CBN and transferring to TV 5 network. The rumor started spreading last year in December but both the Kapuso and Kapatid network as well as Aga refused to comment on anything.
Reliable sources had hinted months before of such prospect but they refused to have the final say stating that it is up to Aga or the TV 5 to make the announcement. The transfer was made official when Aga signed a contract with TV 5‚Äôs corporate honchos at the Marajo Towers, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. A press conference followed at Anabelle’s restaurant along Tomas Morato, Quezon City where Aga formally announced his being a Kapatid member to the press.
The three-year contract is a non-exclusive binding agreement with TV 5. TV 5 made no waste of Aga’s talents or time as they already have three shows planned for Aga. It would be a busy year for Aga as his first project is set to start in June, second in August and the third one may be next year. It was also hinted by TV 5 Head of Creative and Entertainment Production Perci Intalan that Aga will appear in an international franchise reality show. TV 5 had recently purchased a franchise on the right to produce a local version of top rated reality show “The Amazing Race.” This is probably one project that Aga will be hosting and fans would certainly be looking forward for it.
The actor had been a Kapamilya talent for 18 years and he will be leaving behind a network that had nurtured him since his younger years. But Aga is not the only talent to move to TV 5. He will be joining former Kapamilya veteran who had also switched to Kapatid network such as Ruffa Gutierrez, Dolphy, Maricel Soriano and Willie Revillame. Aga refused to say much on the issue before because he is still under a movie project with Angel Locsin under ABS-CBN’s sister movie arm, Star Cinema.
Some of Aga‚Äôs notable television shows in ABS CBN are Oki Doki Doc, Da Body en da Guard, Da Pilya en da Pilot, OK Fine Whatever, That’s My Doc, and M3 (Malay Mo Ma-develop), among others.
