Pacman Is More Influential Than Kobe

manny_pacquiaoThe Filipino boxing superstar Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao has once again proved his status as international spots icon by taking the No. 24 spot of the AskMen.com Top 49 Most Influential Men.   In the 2009 AskMen.com, “People’s Champ” was ranked higher than NBA superstar Kobe Bryant who occupied the No. 33 spot and LeBron James who is in No. 42 spot.  Manny was even more influential than the legendary golfer Tiger Woods who take the 30th spot.

According to AskMen.com, the 2009 Top 49 Most Influential Men list is composed of “men who had the greatest impact on how other men behave, dress, buy, and think.”  The readers voted for the men who influenced them the most from about 200 candidates. AskMen.com averaged out the over 500,000 votes with the ratings of its staff. Manny Pacquiao received a score of 86.2 from the fans and 77.9 from the AskMen.com editors.

The AskMen.com, 2009 Top 49 Most Influential Men list is topped Don Draper of Mad Men TV series.  Other men who included in the list came from politics, entertainment, sports, and technology.  U.S President Barack Obama is in the No. 3 spot.
Manny Pacquiao was also included in the Time Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People” by occupying the No. 22 spot.  He is also ranked 57 in the “Forbes Celebrity 100”.  Forbes Celebrity 100 is the list of most powerful celebrities in the world.  At the same time the pound-for-pound king is in the 6th spot of “The World’s Highest-Paid Athletes” according to Forbes Magazine.

Manny Pacquiao is expected to moved higher in the list if will emerged victorious in his upcoming fight against the Puerto Rican fighter Miguel Cotto.  The Pacquiao vs. Cotto fight is scheduled on Nov. 14, 2009 at MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada.
